Now, we're beginning work on a collaborative project, a new children's book written by my son, my daughter, and myself. It's based on our life together as they were growing up, ten years of which I spent in a wheelchair. So, now that my daughter is illustrating books, it seemed natural that we collaborate on the art as well.
That decision led to a trip down memory lane, of all the things I used to make and paint, including tiny dollhouse canvases with works I copied from the masters. I painted those with a toothpick, given their size, something she does now to detail her illustrations. So, I guess it's time for me to dust off my sketch pad, paint brushes, and palette and get back to painting too!
