Sometimes, life overwhelms us, particularly when we have chronic illness. While I may schedule posts for my FB page and Twitter account, I may not immediately communicate via text and email. I may not even answer my phone, feeling the need to screen my calls. Little things, in normal terms, become huge things for someone who is also living with illness.
At the same time, illness or not, why is it that we suddenly must respond to communications, even before we feel ready to do so? Why is a pause to reflect a bad thing? Perhaps, just perhaps, if we all took a moment or two before hitting 'send' or 'post', we might change what we say, how we say it, or decide we don't need to say anything at all. At the very least, we would allow for room to breathe and thoughts to become coherent, measured, and considered.
